About

Born and raised in Homer, Alaska, Spencer Lee spent his youth thumbing through his father’s vinyl collection. He worked at a record store in high school before a summer wildland firefighting gig helped him buy his first pair of turntables. Moving to Anchorage to study journalism at UAA, Spencer paired his schooling in classic funk and soul with an affinity for hip hop and dance music to quickly earn DJ residencies around town.

Nearly a decade-and-a-half later, he’s the most in-demand DJ in Alaska, playing everywhere from nightclubs to corporate events and private parties. He routinely shares the bill with out-of-town performers, from Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ sold out Egan Center show to an outdoor EDM festival featuring DIplo and RL Grime that filled downtown streets with more than 3,000 people. He DJed several games of the 2016 Great Alaska Shootout, UAA’s basketball tournament at the Alaska Airlines Center and plays the popular monthly video parties at Williwaw Social Club, mixing music videos projected behind the stage. A go-to for grand openings, Spencer was playing tunes at the record-breaking openings of H&M and Krispy Kreme doughnuts. He records mixes for on-air play on 101.3 KGOT, the state’s highest rated drive-time radio show and is the Alaska promoter and host of Jams for Fams, an all-ages dance party for parents and kids.
